Schofield-Waikane Trail Wahiawa One of the most truly spectacular windward views on Oahu awaits at the terminus of this long, graded trail. This neatly-manicured maintains a calm demeanor with no harsh sections along its steadiy climb to the Koolau summit. Beware, it is Na Ala Hele's second-longest trails on the island. |

Poamoho Trail Poamoho Ridge The most spectacular, excellent Koolau trail to one of the finest lookout points along the Koolau crest. Short and sweet, it takes you through some terrific territory replete with splendid, native vegetation. |
Opaeula Ditch Trail Opaeula Gulch, Opaeula Stream This trail was built to access the flumes, culverts, and dams along Opaeula Stream. It descends into the gulch for a short walk through guava thickets and stream crossings. An elbow in the stream provides a swimming pool at the trail terminus. |
Kawaiiki Ditch Trail Kawaiiki Gulch, Kawaiiki Stream Built over a century ago to irrigate sugar cane fields of Waialua Sugar Company, this graded trail accesses the water system used to divert the flow of Kawaiiki Stream to the island's Waialua plantations. It is a trip through thick forest and yesteryear. |
Kawainui Stream Trail Kamananui Ditch, Kawainui Gulch Like its Opaeula/Kawaiiki counterpart, this trail accesses various flumes and dams. After an initial climb, descent, traverse through forests of thimbleberry and job's tears, and multiple stream crossings thereafter, a vast pool over 20 feet deep awaits you at the end. |
Kaunala Trail This Na Ala Hele trail wanders through the convoluted mish-mash of the Koolau Mountains most northern topography. Enjoy the "deserted" feel this graded path provides as it meanders through lonely, rainswept gulches above Pupukea. |
